چکیده

We study the crossover between classical and nonclassical critical behaviors. The critical crossover limit is driven by the Ginzburg number G. The corresponding scaling functions are universal with respect to any possible microscopic mechanism which can vary G, such as changing the range or the strength of the interactions. The critical crossover describes the unique flow from the unstable Gaussian to the stable nonclassical fixed point. The scaling functions are related to the continuum renormalization-group functions. We show these features explicitly in the large-N limit of the O(N) φ4 model. We also show that the effective susceptibility exponent is nonmonotonic in the low-temperature phase of the three-dimensional Ising model. 05.70.Fh, 64.60.Fr, 75.40.Cx, 75.10.Hk Typeset using REVTEX

Aging at Criticality in Model C Dynamics Typeset Using Revt E X 1

We study the off-equilibrium two-point critical response and correlation functions for the relaxational dynamics with a coupling to a conserved density (Model C) of the O(N) vector model. They are determined in an ǫ = 4 − d expansion for vanishing momentum. We briefly discuss their scaling behaviors and the associated scaling forms are determined up to first order in ǫ. The corresponding fluctu...

Crossover of Magnetoconductance Autocorrelation for a Ballistic Chaotic Quantum Dot Typeset Using Revt E X

The autocorrelation function C ';" (('; ") = hg('; ") g(' + '; " + ")i (' and " are rescaled magnetic ux and energy) for the magnetoconductance of a ballistic chaotic quantum dot is calculated in the framework of the su-persymmetric non-linear-model. The Hamiltonian of the quantum dot is modelled by a Gaussian random matrix. The particular form of the symmetry breaking matrix is found to be rel...

Crossover scaling from classical to non-classical critical behaviour

Interacting physical systems in the neighborhood of criticality (and massive continuum field theories) can often be characterized by just two physical scales: a (macroscopic) correlation length and a (microscopic) interaction range, related to the coupling and measured by the Ginzburg number G. A critical crossover limit can be defined when both scales become large while their ratio stays finit...

Adjoint \quark" Color Elds in Four-dimensional Lattice Gauge Theory: Vacuum Screening and Penetration Typeset Using Revt E X

The elds generated by \quarks" in the adjoint representation of SU(2) color are analyzed in the scaling region of the four-dimensional lattice theory. Evidence of vacuum screening of adjoint quarks is obtained from a comparison of quark-antiquark (QQ) ux-tubes for quarks in the adjoint (\isospin" j = 1) and fundamental (j = 1=2) representations. The component E j of the colorelectric eld streng...

Classical Kolmogorov Scaling Is Inconsistent with Local Coupling Typeset Using Revt E X 1

We consider cascade models of turbulence which are obtained by restricting the Navier-Stokes equation to local interactions. By combining the results of the method of extended self-similarity and a novel subgrid model, we investigate the inertial range fluctuations of the cascade. Significant corrections to the classical scaling exponents are found. The dynamics of our local Navier-Stokes model...
